[SpringFestivalFun]😁Why do the Chinese Celebrate Spring Festival?

Updated: Jan 20, 2023

It's finally Spring Festival time! The festival is the most important holiday of every year in China.

Apart from the well-known traditional activities during this period, I bet you have no idea why the spring festival is cherished by Chinese people. Well, it's because the spring festival is the time when the temperature is actually getting warmer. We do not like winter, because it's cold and getting dark early. And a lot of severe weather that causes people's deaths is from winter's coldness. Even after the last day of the previous year, the temperature can still fluctuate. There are still storms or heavy snows now and then.

However, when it's spring festival, we know the temperature is finally actually getting higher. So people are all happy from the bottom of their hearts. And also, when the weather gets better, the beginning of the new year's spring finally starts.

Hope you enjoy this information! 🎉 C-Talk is a Home-based Online Chinese Speaking Platform. C-Talk believes mere grasping pronunciation and knowing the meaning are not enough when it comes to communicating with another culture. In this case, we explain Chinese interpersonal skills while helping people practice spoken Chinese, no matter if it's a word or a sentence.
