In fact, if you keep up with the rewards and maximise your earnings, you can easily afford enough for a free Xbox gift card every single month, or simply save up for a major upcoming release - or even an Xbox Series X!
These are far from the only ways of earning points! Microsoft Rewards also gives out points via email, special punch cards, hidden weekly treasures and monthly bonus round challenges on Xbox, and much, much more!
If you want to use it, there's also an option on console that allows you to 'auto redeem' 5 gift cards every month for a slight discount. This means your points get subtracted for 5 gift cards every month automatically.
The number of points you can earn is highly variable and depends on the types of punch cards Microsoft releases each month, how far along you are in terms of bonuses and streaks, and much more. Generally though, you're looking at an average of about 10k-20k points in the UK, and 15k-25k points in the US if you're willing to put in the effort.
Also like @scene , I did get two 6,000 punch cards (and secondary ones after, I want to say for 500 each) for games I bought, which I was going to buy anyway. With rewards, I got one $30 off and one $20 off (plus the 6000 points earned for the purchase). That's where my $20-30 estimate comes from - on months I've bought games I've gotten $30, on regular months I get $20 without spending.
@Scenes bro I'm from the Netherlands and we barely have any of the aforementioned things. Never heard about emails, we don't have those punch cards and daily sets, I've been gaming on xbox for about 2 years now and I only heard about the quizzes last month, we also didn't have the gamerscore for points exchange from last month. You can count yourself lucky. I've only made 16k points in 2 years lol.
